Costa Del Azahar...The Orange Blossom Coast

The nearest beaches to the Park are at Vinaros and Peniscola only ten minutes from the park.

Vinaros is the third largest town after Valencia and Castellon in the Valencia region.  Vinaros has many shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets and of course the daily indoor market. There is also the traditional market every thursday morning. Further down the coast you will find the historic town of Peñiscola with its ancient castle, famous for the setting of the 1961 film “El Cid” The town has many narrow alleyways with a range of quaint shops, bars and restaurants serving the famous regional paella dishes.

 

From Peniscola, miles of golden sandy beaches stretch north to Benicarlo, and to the south, Castellon, Valencia and Benidorm can be visited.

 

Vinaros and Benicarlo are also on the main railway line, making quick connections to Valencia or Barcelona.

The Sanctuary MARE DE DEU DE LA FONT DE LA SALUD” 

 

It is situated 4 km from San Jordi

Nowadays a lot of people go to the sanctuary because it’s one of the buildings of the exposition ” La Llum de les Imatges”

Vinaros is the first city of Castellon north. It has a beautiful promenade that goes along Vinaros beach. As there are no hotels adjacent to the promenade it is never over crowded making for a very pleasant area even in the height of the season. It has beautiful creeks along the coast. The most important celebration is the Fiesta of the prawns in the summer time and the famous carnival.

Peñiscola...

 

A Coastal city with more than 6 km of beaches, famous by the celebration of “Moors y Christians”, the film festival, the majestic Papa Luna castle (fortress of XIV century) and the natural park of “Sierra de Irta” which is a series of mountains that goes parallel to the coast with creeks, beaches and cliffs, all of these form a wonderful land

The town of San Jordi is situated 175m above sea level; this makes our area a wonderful place to enjoy Mediterranean weather, with soft winters and warm summers.

Its excellent situation gives us the possibility of enjoying the peace of a rural town but only 10 minutes to the Mediterranean beaches. Our area is surrounded with historical towns like San Mateu, Morella, Ares, etc. And close by we have the wonderful golf course of Nova Panoramica.

For Golf Lovers...

Just a few minutes’ drive from the Park is the Panoramic Golf & Sport Resort. It is surely one of the best golf courses in Spain, Opened in 1994 and located in the Castellón region, in the municipality of Sant Jordi, built on a beautiful estate of carob and olive trees.

 

There is a first class restaurant, a café, golf shop and hire. There is also Tennis, Football and  Padel available.

Morella  

 

Morella is the main city of the “Els Ports”. It has the biggest area of the Castellon province and is one of the   most important in the Comunidad  Valenciana. It is a walled city, and is more than 1000 metres above sea level. Morella is one of the cities which is most visited by tourists, with its medieval charm or its famous festivals like the  “Sexenio” every six years, music festival in September, medieval market in July.

El Delta Del Ebro

 

This natural park is situated at the mouth of the river of Ebro in Tarragona province. The park has rice plantation, big lagoons, salt flats and deserted sandy beaches.

La Tinança de Benifassa is the ultimate destination for people who enjoy nature. In this area situated in the north of Comunidad Valenciana and near the provinces of Tarragona and Teruel, we can find wonderful and beautiful landscapes.
